Canadian Menopause Society Supports the Ontario Menopause Awareness Act 2026

The Canadian Menopause Society (CMS) is pleased to express its support for the Menopause Awareness Act, 2026 (Bill 142), a private member's bill introduced by Ontario MPP Peggy Sattler.

The proposed legislation seeks to formally designate October as Menopause Awareness Month and October 18 as Menopause Awareness Day in Ontario. This is an important step toward increasing public awareness, reducing stigma, and recognizing the significant impact menopause can have on women's health, well-being, and quality of life. CMS commends MPP Peggy Sattler and all those involved in advancing this important initiative. We are encouraged by the growing momentum surrounding menopause awareness and advocacy, and we look forward to continued progress toward better education, healthcare, and support for women across Canada.

Together, we can make menopause a recognized priority in women's health.
