- Dr. Jen Gunter, originally from Winnipeg, is an internationally renowned OB/GYN. In addition to her most recent book, Blood: The Science, Medicine, and Mythology of Menstruation, she is the author of the two New York Times bestsellers, The Vagina Bible and The Menopause Manifesto. She is the host of the CBC docuseries Jensplaining, and her TED Talk on menstruation was the third most viewed TED Talk of 2020. She’s been called the Internet’s OB/GYN and one of the fiercest advocates for women’s health.
Dr. Gunter's mission is to build a better medical internet because to be empowered about health, one must have accurate information. Her writing has appeared in various publications, including the New York Times, Dame, The New Republic, and The Guardian. She runs a blog called The Vajenda, and her medical practice is in San Francisco, California.
- Dr. Claudio Soares is a Full Professor and former Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He currently is the President of the Menopause Society (formerly known as NAMS), and the Inaugural Director for the Centre for Psychedelic Heath and Research at Providence Care Hospital & Queen’s University. Other roles include Executive Lead for the Canadian Biomarker Integration Network in Depression (CAN-BIND) and Regional Lead for Mental Health and Addictions, Ontario Health East.
Dr. Soares has been funded as principal investigator in 30+ trials and is the recipient of 3 NARSAD Awards and the 2019 NAMS Excellence Award in Research. He is a sought-after educator with more than 240 presentations at national and international meetings. He has more than 220 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of mood disorders and women’s mental health, including JAMA, Nature, American Journal of Psychiatry, JAMA psychiatry among others.
- Dr. Rossella Nappi is a Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chief of the Research Center for Reproductive Medicine and Gynecological Endocrinology-Menopause Unit, IRCCS San Matteo Foundation, University of Pavia (Italy). Dr Nappi’s major interests are in the field of psychoneuroendocrinology of female reproductive and post-reproductive life with a special focus on women’s sexual health. She has published around 450 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and international books with around 2700 citations (HF Google Scholar 89). She is a well-known speaker on women’s health from adolescence to menopause. She has been very active in many international meetings and research projects in the field of contraception, menopause and female sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Nappi is the past president of the International Society for the Study of Women Sexual Health (ISSWSH). At present, she is a permanent member of the advisory board of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) and of the International Academy of Human Reproduction (IAHR), and President of the International Menopause Society (IMS).
